Beauty Brew Rose Petal Tea Latte

It’s Beau-Tea,

If only there was a tea, I could take one sip and voilà — I instantly feel more beautiful and effortlessly in love with myself! Well, *twinkle, twinkle* your wish has been granted. In case you haven’t heard, flowers aren’t just for visual pleasure; certain flowers are actually edible and bring an abundance of wellness incentives, including beauty benefits, to those who use their powerful medicines.

Rose petals, in particular, are one of my favorites. There’s a reason why these delicate petals are a symbol of love, youth, beauty, and abundance in so many cultures. Connected with the sacral and heart chakras, the “Queen of the Flowers” is steeped in a magical energy that opens the heart for self-love and love to share with others (rose is a famous aphrodisiac). Rose petals have been used internally and externally for thousands of years for their mind, body, and spiritual healing benefits, relieving symptoms of a broken heart, depression, anxiety and bringing overall balance.

Skin Benefits

Roses are naturally anti-inflammatory, which aids your skin from the inside out, helping reduce redness, puffiness, and other signs of inflammation.

Rose tea contains just as many antioxidants as green tea, thanks to its concentration of polyphenols, flavonoids, and vitamins. Vitamins A, C, and E protect skin from environmental damage, support our body’s natural collagen production, smooth skin texture, and minimize signs of aging for a radiant, healthy glow. Consider rose one of nature’s retinoids.

Roses are naturally moisturizing and soothing for all skin types, especially those struggling with dryness or eczema. Even the small act of drinking your beauty brew increases skin hydration for a stronger skin barrier.

Emotional Benefits

Sipping a rose-infused elixir quite literally allows you to see the world through rose-colored glasses. As a heart opener and high vibrational flower, rose helps you form a deeper connection with the world around you and, most importantly, with yourself. Drinking your rose tea daily alongside your other self-love practices – whether that’s journaling, painting, or soaking away the day in a spiritual bath ritual – amplifies your potential for healing and stepping into your power. (Goddess energy only here.)

Rose petals are plant-powered healers. They’re fantastic for those who are grieving, as roses help release stagnant emotions and grief to facilitate healing and overall emotional well-being. By helping console and digest painful and even explosive emotions, rose enables you to reach a calmer, soothed place.

Even when working through difficult emotions, rose is all about the good vibes. Reach for these fragrant petals whenever you’re in a bad mood to relieve stress and tension. Remember, less stress is also a win-win for your skin. So brew your rose petal tea, sip, and glow on.

Self - love Beauty Potion

This rose petal tea latte perfectly incorporates self-love into your daily rituals while supporting your wellness and beauty goals. Enjoy a warm cup in the mornings to keep love at the forefront of your day or in the evenings to calm your mind and body. The beauty of rose is that it works with your unique emotional needs, so any time you can enjoy this medicinal flower will bring magic into your life.

The Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Purified water

  • 1 tablespoon Anima Mundi dried rose petals

  • 1/2 cup oat milk OR a dairy or nondairy milk of your choice

  • 1 teaspoon honey or sweetener of choice*

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)*

  • Virtuoso Tea Kettle with Built-In Steeper  (You can use a stainless steel tea infuser to steep the herbs if you don’t have a kettle)

  •   Adjust the amount of sweetener and vanilla extract to your taste.

  • Note: Rose petals need to be fresh + free from pesticides for safe consumption, such as the petals linked in this article.

Instructions:

Makes two servings

1. Fill the tea kettle with 2 cups of water and add 2 tablespoons of loose rose petals to the built-in steeper.

2. Heat the water to boiling point and steep the rose petals for about 5-7 minutes.

3. While the tea steeps, heat 1 cup of milk in a small saucepan (or stove-top boiling cup) over medium heat. Heat the milk until it is hot but not boiling. Note: take temperature precautions, as milk becomes very hot when heated.

4. Once tea is done steeping, remove the steeper from the kettle and discard the rose petals.

5. Add 2 teaspoons of honey to the tea and stir until dissolved.

6. Add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the hot milk and stir.

7. Pour the hot milk into the tea and stir gently.

8. Top with a pinch of fresh, dried rose petals.

9. Serve and enjoy your hot rose petal tea latte!
