High Status Skin

We are having a full on French beauty moment with Biologique Recherche (pronounced bee-oh-loh-jeek reh-shersh) is the real star behind your favorite stars. The high-end French brand is literally and metaphorically the celebrity of skincare: elusive, obsession-worthy, hard to find in real life, and a mainstay in every A-lister’s medicine cabinet. Unlike other brands that are all marketing and no results, Biologique Recherche has maintained its cult status for over 40 years because it actually works—like scarily well.

Now, I’m not always one to splurge on expensive products just for the name or hype, but I’ll happily add any (I mean every) Biologique Recherche product to my skincare lineup. Each formula is packed with cutting-edge technology, personalized methodology, and high concentrations of nature-derived active ingredients. Which explains why skin experts, makeup artists, and beauty editors stock up whenever they’re in France.

We’re also convinced celebs like Hailey Bieber, J.Lo, Nicole Kidman, and the Olsen sisters (to name a few) are buying go-to products – like Iso-Placenta, Lait U, P50, and L’Eauxygénante – in bulk. Kim Kardashian’s 18-step skincare regimen consists mainly of Biologique Recherche products. And if it’s good enough for the beauty queen herself, it’s good enough for me.

Placenta?

If you feel like we are speaking another language, we totally are — Biologique Recherche is on another level of product quality and a complete game changer for your skin. And, of course, we’re bringing you the inside scoop below.

 Masque Vivant

One of Kim K’s go-to face masks from the line, Masque Vivant, is all about bringing harmony back to the skin. It regulates excess sebum and reduces breakouts for us lucky acne-prone ladies without drying our complexions. All thanks to a pore-clearing combo of yeast extract, clays, lactic acid, and vinegar.

 Iso-Placenta

Beauty enthusiasts hear the word ‘placenta’ and immediately think ‘skincare.’ The Iso-Placenta serum uses biomimetic placenta (which mimics the benefits of human placenta) to promote healing, reduce inflammation and redness, and remove traces of acne and past skin mistakes on and below the surface. This is another must-try for my fellow acne-prone babes.

 Lait U

Time to throw those makeup wipes away. The Lait U Botanical Cleansing Milk is one of the gentlest cleansers on the market, soothing skin as it removes any trace of dirt, oil, and makeup. It’s brimming with nourishing emollients (think sweet almond and hazelnut oils) that leave your skin soft and supple post-wash, not greasy.

If you make any skin investment from the beloved French line, make it Lotion P50. The liquid exfoliant combines clarifying ingredients like lactic acid, salicylic acid, and sulfur with anti-inflammatory botanicals (horseradish and onion included). Besides its “facial in a bottle” benefits that include pore-shrinking, brightening dull skin, and lightening post-acne marks, this exfoliant is known for its pungent vinegar-meets-garbage smell. It sounds off-putting, but the scent doesn’t linger, and the results are well worth it.

Masque Visolastine +

Masque Visolastine + is Hailey Bieber’s favorite morning mask (see her pre-Rhode skincare routine for proof). But we’re also among its die-hard fans.

Like so many other Biologique Recherche products, it focuses on the underrated health of the epidermis by providing long-lasting hydration to the outer layers of skin.

L’Eauxygénante

It’s hard not to love a facial mist. It’s even harder not to love the L'Eauxygénante facial mist. This radiance booster brings skin back to life one spritz at a time with its vitamins, antioxidants, and oxygenating anti-pollution complex. This is the ultimate city-girl skin staple.
