“UGH, AS IF”

Clueless, baby tees, capri pants, The Spice Girls, grunge flannels, and crimped hair—The ‘90s is an era overflowing with fashion moments. So honestly, it’s no surprise that so many of our fave ‘90s trends are back and better than ever. You can reflect on this simpler time with a scrunchie in your hair, sipping on a Capri Sun, re-watching episodes of Friends you’ve seen a million times. But the real fun is in recreating these iconic styles so you can strut around your house with the same fierceness as Naomi Campbell.

Ahead, read up on the ‘90s fashion staples we can’t get enough of, the icons that made them fashun, and where you can shop similar pieces for your own closet.

THE LOOKS

Mock neck top | straight-leg jeans | leather blazer

We could (and do) scroll Pinterest for hours adding ‘90s supermodels to our boards—their beauty and fashion inspo is endless. But Cindy Crawford is undeniably the ‘90s ultimate it-girl. Take IRL inspo from her off-duty look that’s easy to recreate.

Nothing screams quiet beauty and sexy sophistication like the fitted mock neck, an absolutely required piece in your closet for those days when you feel like the world has left you no other option except to weaponize your beauty. Enter: This gorg mock neck top. Wear it tucked into straight-leg jeans and throw a leather blazer on top for a knockout everyday look.

White top | linen skirt | ballet flats

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy (our forever queen of timeless fashion and elegance) ate and left absolutely no crumbs with this casual street-style look.

Her white linen skirt with a relaxed button-down is quintessential ‘90s but translates just as fab in 2024. You can also stick with the ‘90s vibes by swapping the linen skirt for a maxi slip dress. Just be sure to complete the look with a pair of Dolce Vita Reyes Ballet Flats, a slouchy shoulder bag, and oval sunnies.

Oversized blazer | white tee | jeans

Julia Roberts is clearly one of the most gorgeous women to grace our screens (your sign to re-watch Pretty Woman). Off-screen, she’s just as flawless. Queue this minimalist airport moment we can’t stop obsessing over.

The star of the show is the oversized black blazer—we love her. It’s a timeless piece that elevates even the most basic outfits to something…not so basic. Stick to her minimalist styling with a white tee (this fit is everything) and vintage jeans.

Relaxed denim | cool girl accessories

This relaxed Garcelle Beauvais look proves that simplicity is superior. The best part? Everyone can recreate this outfit since it flatters literally any body type.

Down to the details: To pull this look, start with 90s-inspired, denim like these jeans. Elevate the look with a thin black belt (we recommend this one from commense). As for tops, I’d go with something easy like a button-down cardigan. OH, and if you have it, now's the time to dust off that LV Keepall.

Leggings | denim jacket | chunky sneakers

What would ‘90s fashion be without a denim jacket? Tyra’s cazh travel look is one we’ve practically built our entire airport personality around. Leggings? Comfy. Baby tee? Absolutely. Denim jacket? Love. Comfy shoes? Necessary. This is what ‘90s athleisure is all about.

You know those ugly sneakers we used to make fun of our dads for wearing? The tables have turned Noodies, and I (like my girl Tyra) am a fellow dad sneaker convert with New Balances and Asics lining my shelves. They’re the perfect chunky shoe to balance out a sleek athleisure look. Finish off the ensemble with an oversized (ideally vintage) denim jacket. If it’s chilly, swap out the baby tee with a vintage-esc sweatshirt.
